In May 2025, acclaimed pianist and composer Tamara Konstantin was appointed as the International Ambassador of Georgian Classical Music and Musical Culture by the Georgian Composers Union.
The appointment was confirmed through an official letter from the Union’s Chairman, Professor Giorgi Shaverzashvili, recognising Tamara’s contributions to classical music and her role in promoting Georgian musical heritage internationally.
Tamara Konstantin was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and developed a passion for music from a young age. She studied at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, where she trained as a classical pianist and composer, immersing herself in both Western classical traditions and the rich musical heritage of Georgia. Her early exposure to Georgian folk melodies and national classical works has remained a strong influence throughout her career.

After establishing her foundational training in Georgia, Tamara moved abroad, building an international career as a performer and composer. Her music, noted for its technical mastery and emotive qualities, has been performed in major venues worldwide and featured in recordings and broadcasts that reach global audiences.
Throughout her career, Tamara has remained deeply connected to her Georgian roots. She frequently incorporates elements of Georgian musical culture into her compositions and performances, serving as a bridge between the classical traditions of her homeland and audiences around the world.
Her appointment as International Ambassador formalises her role as a representative of Georgian classical music on the international stage. In this capacity, she will support initiatives that promote Georgian composers, encourage cross-cultural collaborations, and raise awareness of Georgia’s musical heritage among global audiences.
The Georgian Composers Union, a leading body for the country’s composers, made this appointment as part of its ongoing efforts to celebrate and share the contributions of Georgian musicians worldwide. Tamara Konstantin’s recognition underscores her status as one of Georgia’s most prominent contemporary classical artists and highlights the continuing global influence of Georgian musical culture.
